IM POSTING A LOVELY GOAN PRAWN CURRY RECIPE WHICH CANNOT GET ANY EASIER.THE INGREDIENTS ARE SIMPLE AND ITS JUST A QUESTION OF PUTTING THEM ALL TOGETHER AND YOU VE CREATED A SUPER DISH.I TRIED THIS ONE ON MY KIDS TONIGHT . I TONED DOWN ON THE RED CHILLI AND AVOIDED THE GREEN CHILLIES AS THEY MAY NOT BE ABLE TO HANDLE THE SPICE AND THEY JUST LOVED IT.THE IDEA IS TO GET A SLIGHTLY SOUR,SLIGHTLY SPICY AND SLIGHTLY SWEET TASTE.PLEASE CHECK OUT THE STEP BY STEP LINK AT THE BOTTOM...HERE GOES THE RECIPE....
ABSOLUTELY EASY GOAN PRAWN CURRY
.8 shelled prawns, cleaned deveined and slightly salted
.2cups coconut milk
.1 tsp coriander powder
.1 tsp cumin powder
.2 tsps Kashmiri chilli powder
.1 tablespoon ginger garlic ground
.1 medium onion finely chopped
.2 green chillies, slit and deseeded
.Salt to taste
.Tamarind the size of a walnut, soaked in 1/2 cup of water.
method
.Put all ingredients except prawns and tamarind water into a pan with 1.5 cups water. Mix well.
.Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer till onions turn soft.
.Stir occasionally.
.Squeeze tamarind and strain into pan. Stir in prawns either full or chopped into two
. Adjust seasoning..check for salt and add more if needed
.Remove from heat as soon as prawns curl up.
